Friending Post

My LJ has gone a bit odd and it's a bit quiet. I know a couple of you are finding the same thing, so I thought I might attempt to make a public post and a sort of friending frenzy (this may or may not work especially as I am posting this on a Monday morning). So yeah, you know the drill. If you want friends feel free to make a comment telling us all about yourself and have a look through to see if there is anyone you think you might like to be friends with.

I'm a 32, female and live in Kent with my partner (we are engaged - am avoiding using the word fiance!) We have 2 rescue greyhounds who are ex-racers and occasionally foster lurchers for a charity we work with.

I'm a youth worker a job that I love but am still inclinded to occasionally whine about.

Hello! I'm Silvia, 27 (not for long), Italian that now calls London her home. A short summary of my recent life can be as follows: frustrated with my own country, I used a MA in Comparative Literature as an excuse to leave my fair country never to return, and land to a place I've loved with a passion since I was 15. I somehow ended up working in marketing and fundraising, in various arts organisations and now charities (I'm actually about to start a new job). Taken by academia nostalgia, I'm also currently considering a certificate in psychology (don't ask).

Things I like include: theatre, literature, books, costume drama, London, rock music, eating out, yoga, tea. You may find all of this in my journal, mainly diluted in everyday ramblings on everything that crosses my life and my mind.

I've been on LJ for almost 7 years (JESUS, where has my life gone?!) and I cannot begin to tell how much I love this place. I try to update every day or almost, and I'll keep doing so even if everyone migrates to Facebook/Twitter and I become the last person to do so.

Hello, I'm a 31 year old (32 in 2 days) American living in London, UK. I have previously lived in Guatemala, The Netherlands, Ireland and Scotland as well.

My main interests are:
- Music (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Kasabian, Madonna, tons of local/underground bands)
- Art (I paint, I take loads of photos that frequent my LJ and I love going to museums)
- Travel (I have been to about 18 countries, last time I checked)
- Friends (I try to be a good, loyal one)
- Human Rights (I have an MSc in Human Rights from the Uni of Glasgow, and I will soon be a Researcher for Amnesty International)
- Baking (I am starting a cake etsy site!)

Hi! A couple of people on my flist have linked here so I figure, why not? I'm Alice, about to turn 23, about to move to Germany (from the UK originally), about to start work, about to move in with boyfriend in our very own flat... yeah I guess I'm on the edge of a whole load of big life changes at the minute!

I like to use LJ to write about my day-to-day life and I would say I'm an active writer and commenter. My interests are travel, languages, photography, food and knitting. I'm a pretty positive person, although sometimes I rant about things I try to make the best of everything, and I'm always up to try out something new.

I'm M., female, 25, currently finishing my Masters in Human Rights and living in Kampala, Uganda.

I've been pretty busy over the last year and I've often used livejournal to post about work, but I'm trying to be better.

My interests include travelling (I'm always planning the next trip and would hop on a place much more regularly if it wasn't for money), African Politics (although I don't tend to post about this), reading, photography and normal-people things like hanging out with friends.

I'm 33, a counsellor based in Munich, with a little girl and a complicated marital situation. I go through spates of frequent posting* when I have something to say, otherwise I only comment when I have something that I think is valuable to say or if I think I'm being funny. I always read, though.

*about my marriage and the shambles it sometimes is, about my oftentimes ridiculous life, my hilarious daughter, sometimes confidentialised client-related stuff, and oh, I am obsessed with Christmas and will be kicking off posting about it again in embarrassingly short order.
