I love Simon and Garfunkel. Love the harmony. This was one of the first songs I remember liking when young and asking questions about - the others being Bohemian Rhapsody and The Carpenters - Calling Occupants. I used to ask my dad about the lyrics. I guess I was quite a morbid child. I sensed the sadness in this song as a child and it's stood up as I have gotten older. I think lyrically this is a stunning song.

I grew up listening to this song (I was most definitely a morbid child) and love it too. It just creates such a powerful atmosphere. Amazing lyrics!

Well, you can imagine what someone going through what I was going through as a teen made of a lyric like:

'Hello darkness my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again'

I don't think those two ever produced a bad song.

Funny, I was listening to that sone about going to look for America on the radio yesterday, and I was having my little daydream as usual. I would really like to write a screenplay for a film about Paul Simon and his English girlfriend Kathy. I find it eternally interesting that she didn't want the fame and ended it all. I think that would make a really interesting film
