Friending Post

My LJ has gone a bit odd and it's a bit quiet. I know a couple of you are finding the same thing, so I thought I might attempt to make a public post and a sort of friending frenzy (this may or may not work especially as I am posting this on a Monday morning). So yeah, you know the drill. If you want friends feel free to make a comment telling us all about yourself and have a look through to see if there is anyone you think you might like to be friends with.

I'm a 32, female and live in Kent with my partner (we are engaged - am avoiding using the word fiance!) We have 2 rescue greyhounds who are ex-racers and occasionally foster lurchers for a charity we work with.

I'm a youth worker a job that I love but am still inclinded to occasionally whine about.

I'm 33, a counsellor based in Munich, with a little girl and a complicated marital situation. I go through spates of frequent posting* when I have something to say, otherwise I only comment when I have something that I think is valuable to say or if I think I'm being funny. I always read, though.

*about my marriage and the shambles it sometimes is, about my oftentimes ridiculous life, my hilarious daughter, sometimes confidentialised client-related stuff, and oh, I am obsessed with Christmas and will be kicking off posting about it again in embarrassingly short order.

I make lists a lot, too.

I'm sorry, this was a crap introduction.

I am originally from Liverpool, now in Munich via Dublin and a stint in New York, I am a failed vegetarian, committed vegetable-lover and I enjoy cooking and baking a lot. I like old movies and long lists. I am an aspiring crafty person and like to take pictures of my projects and look at other people's, even though theirs are all much nicer. And I used to travel a lot, now I just sigh enviously at other people's travels and wish I could go with them. And sometimes I plan imaginary holidays, or genuine holidays that we might one day go on.

Hello, I'm stpdsxyflndrs - I'm a 34-year-old female living in Seattle, and I work in the IT department for a mobile phone company. I admit that my participation in LJ waxes and wanes, so sometimes I don't post or comment very often, but lately I've been a bit more active and would like to have some more like-minded friends on my list. I'd rather have a smaller, close-knit group of LJ friends than have hundreds, and I do periodic cuts of people with whom I just don't feel like I'm connecting. But with those caveats out of the way, I welcome anyone who'd like to be friends. :)

My interests include music, singing, travel, cycling, hiking, being outside, going to concerts, photography, and reading. I don't watch much TV or many movies, but I am a daily Questionable Content reader. :) My posts usually are about riding my bike, various adventures, concerts I've been to, the ups and downs of life in Seattle, and pimping my very amateur photographic efforts. :) Feel free to check out my profile and to add me if you'd like to have a look around. Hello! My name is Rhian and I am a 25 year old top banana. I started life in an awful part of northern England. Moved to Sheffield for a languages degree. I lived in Germany for a bit and then in The Netherlands.

Now I'm fully established in Sweden. I work in Malmö as a translator (Swedish - English) and am about to go back to uni to do an MA in Linguistics.

My livejournal basically involves me talking about poo, vaginas, being a mental case or just general shite. I misuse sarcasm and have an incredibly sharp tongue - and habit of speaking my mind without thinking of the consequences.

Hello, I'm a 29 year old female from Norway. I am currently doing my best to squash all feelings of pending doom/being one year away from 30, while squeezing all the fun I can out of my last year as a twenty-something. I work in the health care section (two different jobs in two different places), and when I'm not working I love reading, knitting or crocheting, writing, listening to music, hanging out with friends or watching movies/telly series. I also like cooking, but mostly because of the eating that follows the cooking. I also love to hang out with my friends, but I don't get to do it as often as I'd like.

I've been told I'm shy, but I tend to think of myself as quiet rather than shy. I'm not at all shy on the internet, though, and I value a good sense of humour, a bit of irony and sarcasm, and someone to discuss random things with:)

Mind if I add you? It sounds like we have some things in common. Btw, I think that is a common misinterpretation about shy people.. that you are shy, but in reality you are just quiet or like to speak when you have something to say, not for the purpose of talking. I'm a bit like that too. :)

Some who call me shy have known me since I was little, when it was true - I was painfully shy. But people change over the years, though some of my friends fail to see this. But those who befriend me now probably see me as quiet rather than shy.

I'm Carina, 31, living in Finland. I'm married since 10 months and the hubby and I hope there'll one day be a baby too. I work as a translator (Finnish-Swedish) and part-time I translate subtitles for cinema movies. My dream would be to fully translate movies only. I'm into movies, music (I have a pretty broad taste, from hard rock and metal to boybands and Britney), reading, writing, penpalling, crafts. I would love to learn to be a better cook. I just came back from my first time hiking, I hope I'll get to go that again. I love going to concerts, but I don't go as often as I'd like to. I'm hooked on How I Met Your Mother and I love The Amazing Race and Top Chef.

I've been on LJ for years, but lately not as active as I would like to be. Facebook ate my friends and I didn't find it very inspiring to write only for myself and have a new friends entry once every two weeks. I hope to now regain the inspiration for LJ that I once had. My journal is about what's going on in my life and in my head. Oh, and it's friends locked. I just like it better that way :)
