My LJ has gone a bit odd and it's a bit quiet. I know a couple of you are finding the same thing, so I thought I might attempt to make a public post and a sort of friending frenzy (this may or may not work especially as I am posting this on a Monday morning). So yeah, you know the drill. I'll give it a go, my flist is quite quiet these days too!

I'm Claire, 28 years old, living in the north of England. I'm an analytical chemist (read crazy chemist) and work providing chemistry support to power stations for one of the big 6 UK energy suppliers. I absolutely love it and the small department I work in means it feels less like selling out. There's a lady I work with, who I get on really well with, but she tries to shut me out of the work, so I'm dealing with that and posting about it at the moment.

I have a boyfriend, Rob, who does marketing for the same energy supplier. We're currently long distance, he's about 100 miles away. He's the woman of our relationship bless him! He's lovely and the sweetest man I've ever dated, but I'm terrible with relationships, not very romantic, and overanalyse everything (via my journal)!

Sadly I also have a massive crush on my bad-boy boss (I should write that it's never going to happen, nor would I actually want it to), and I write about this quite a lot. Trying to get my head around ignoring my stupid brain and doing what's best for me and also for Rob.

Other things I like are: salsa dancing, going to the cinema, I've just bought a new flat and I'm going to be working on making that my own, girly gossiping, drinking/going out on a Friday (I promise all my entires don't start with "oooo I was soooo wasted"), I'm a runner and am currently training for a 10k, I do talk about work a bit and sometimes I get to travel round the country to different power stations.

I'm pretty practical but think my journal probably gets my hormonal woman side, so I probably would fit with either side. I always read my flist and comment quite a lot (I usually have something to say!). I think my journal has been a bit difficult to comment on at the moment, especially if you don't know me, but I appreciate people reading, and like reading people's journals in return. I don't mind people telling me I'm an idiot so would welcome brutally honest friends!

Hello! I'm a nearly 33 year old Swedish girl who lives in a suburb to Stockholm, Sweden. My name is Katarina, but I usually go by Kattis. I live with my boyfriend since 10 years and we are now about to start our own family. I work with kids at a kindergarden. I'm pretty introverted and I'm sure plenty of people think I'm shy, while in reality I'm not.. I just don't care to talk unless I have something to say.
Some of my interests are literature (fantasy, chick-litt, every day modern stories.. I'm an avid reader and read a little bit of everything), photography, movies (I watch a huge variety of genres and like anything from romantic movies to horror movies), cooking, traveling, shopping, taking daytrips, history, music (mainly indie and singer/songwriters), going to gigs (even if I don't do it as often), writing letters, watching tv (I follow a lot of shows, or try to.. Greys anatomy, Gossip girl, Vampire diaries, Desperate housewives, House, True blood, Supernatural are amongst the ones I watch these days and an old favorite of mine is Buffy the vampire slayer.) I collect Blythe dolls and post about them once in a while in my journal, but more than anything my journal is like a diary and a way to keep up with penpals and online friends about my daily life.
I'm looking for people who update somewhat regularly and who is genuinely interested in getting to know me & will comment to entries once and a while. It'd be nice if we have some things in common, but you don't have to like everything I do. Well, my name is Sarah and I turned 36 today. Being closer to 40 than 30 isn't a particularly nice feeling but I am sure that I will get used to it.

I live in the north-west (near Manchester) and I will be moving in with my fella in the next couple of weeks. Well, as soon as I have packed all of my stuff up. We have three cats and we fuss over our furbabies far too much. As cats go, ours are fabulous in every way possible.

I have been a primary school teacher for the past twelve years. I love my job but it can annoy me at times. I try not to whinge about it too much.

I love to cross stitch and have just joined a crochet club. We are all the same age and meet in local pub and spend a huge chunk of the time talking about men. We are trying to increase our numbers and are planning several yarnbombing projects in our local town to make it more prettier. If the Knitting Nora's can do it and avoid getting arrested, then so can we!

I also like going to the theatre and gigs. I love bands such as The Horrors, The Hives and the wonderus X Ray Spex.

My other hobbies include mystery shopping and market research. Now, I know that this isn't exactly a rock n roll hobby and does cause the odd eyebrow to rise when I mention it but I love free stuff and shopping vouchers. OMG shopping for free. Who can complain about that?!

My name's Natasha, I'm 21 from Argentina, currently living with my dad and a cat that it's not ours but we still feed him and take care of him, was studying Visual Arts last year but dropped out because of personal issues and I was supposed to start with Software Development this year but I still haven't because of reasons beyond my powers.

I like a variety of tv shows, that include BBC Sherlock, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Misfits, Community, and others~, music (obsessed with Florence and Metric at the moment), cartoons, books (although I'm a reaaally lazy reader) photography and films, especially those with Christian Bale or Michael Fassbender in them.

Other stuff about me: my LJ is mainly about stuff that sticks out about my day-to-day life. It isn't always riveting but it's mine. I'm a grad student, introvert and avid reader, into papercrafting, mail art and swapping, crochet, knitting, roleplaying games and LARP, video games, Buddhism, and reading whatever I can find all over the internet. I have slightly off taste in music - favourites include James, Vangelis, Profondo Rosso, Savage, Allister, Idlewild, Green Day, A Fine Frenzy, Roxette, The Beautiful South and The Housemartens, and all sorts of other artists of varying genres - I recently got into Vocaloid music and Florence + the Machine.

Hi! I am Marta, 30, italian. I am on LJ since 2007, but haven't updated as much in the past years. I am now back for good to keep a regular account of my days. I am a part-time office worker. I am a part-time university student. I am working through my third uni degree, this time in kingergarten education. I aim to get a master in special needs education also. I already am a social worker, but it seems to be an unlucky profession in my country, so I am just trying my luck with education.

My name's Louise, or Moominlou as I'm often referred to, and I'm fast approaching 30. I have the various trappings of grown upness, like a mortgage, but I still get childishly excited about things like Hallowe'en and Christmas. I also have nostalgia for the good old days of cartoons. I live in Birmingham (but originally from Nottingham) with my husband Adam and kitties, Aragorn and Hardy.

I work for a law firm as an Intelligence Researcher but my heart is in wedding planning. I loved planning our wedding and now I keep a wedding blog until I can get the course fees together to do a wedding planner diploma.

Passions include films - favourites include The Crow, The Last of the Mohicans, The Lord of the Rings and The Fountain. I also adore my superheroes and I'm a big fan of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Avengers Assemble and Kick Ass.

I also adore fantasy and gothic art and have a rapidly growing collection of art books.

Music-wise, I consider my taste to be quite eclectic and can be found listening to music ranging from Beethoven, Kate Rusby, Epica, Patsy Cline, Emilie Autumn, VAST, Bon Jovi, Paloma Faith....

I'm a bit of an El Jay dinosaur and have kept this journal since the angst ridden days of 2001. I update quite regularly and enjoy interacting with people so I try to comment on people's journals as often as I can and if I have anything relevant to say!

Hi! I'm a 29 year old female from Iceland, although I'm currently living in Denmark where I'm studying anthropology. So for the next few years I'll be spending my winters in Denmark studying and summers in Iceland working. Work being office work for the Icelandic Equestrian Association.

I love to travel, I can't go a day without listening to music and one of my favourite things to do is take long walks and take pictures of cool things I come across. Also, superheroes are rad.

I've been quiet on LJ this summer due to a broken wrist (only typing with my left hand took aaaages) but I'm getting better and I'm ready to delve back into the wonderful world of LJ.

Hello! I'm Silvia, 27 (not for long), Italian that now calls London her home. A short summary of my recent life can be as follows: frustrated with my own country, I used a MA in Comparative Literature as an excuse to leave my fair country never to return, and land to a place I've loved with a passion since I was 15. I somehow ended up working in marketing and fundraising, in various arts organisations and now charities (I'm actually about to start a new job). Taken by academia nostalgia, I'm also currently considering a certificate in psychology (don't ask).

Things I like include: theatre, literature, books, costume drama, London, rock music, eating out, yoga, tea. You may find all of this in my journal, mainly diluted in everyday ramblings on everything that crosses my life and my mind.

I'm Alice, about to turn 23, about to move to Germany (from the UK originally), about to start work, about to move in with boyfriend in our very own flat... yeah I guess I'm on the edge of a whole load of big life changes at the minute!

I like to use LJ to write about my day-to-day life and I would say I'm an active writer and commenter. My interests are travel, languages, photography, food and knitting.
